Aztec Diamond Equestrian – Review

Searching for affordable riding apparel with a modern look? And that holds up to daily use? We’ve found it!

With the equestrian world (finally) moving away from the classic stiff, beige breeches to more functional wear, my daughter and I are always on the lookout for new gear to try.

When UK company Aztec Diamond Equestrian reached out to us we jumped at the chance to try their riding leggings and base layer tops. With a mission to produce high-performance products with a luxury finish (minus the premium price tag), this brand was at the top of our “must-have” list this year.

Riding Leggings

Made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, the Icon riding leggings are truly an equestrian masterpiece. Think yoga pants meet breeches! The material is soft and supple, and the silicone grips gave us just enough stick in the saddle.

As a middle-aged woman, I can’t express how much I appreciated the 4-way stretch that provides a tight fit, without any unflattering puckering. The high, thick waistband gives Spanx-level support for the stomach and sides to create a sleek silhouette. Without belt loops, these pants are ready to go as-is, whether you’re heading to the barn or for a workout.

Another bonus is the side pockets with silicone grips. No more phones falling into the dirt when we bend over to pick a hoof! The slick material is also easy to clean with just a quick wipe and helps to cut down on the need for a full washing after each wear.

I’m a medium and found them to fit true to size, while the Teen worked well for my daughter (age 11) with a bit of extra room in the length to grow.

Base Layers

More From Savvy Horsewoman:  Kavallerie Gel Half Pad - Product Review

The Icon base layers tops are designed to fit like a second skin, providing the right balance of warmth and ventilation. We’ve used the long sleeve base layers under sweatshirts during the cold months, and now that spring has arrived, found they’re the perfect weight on their own for warmer days.

Charcoal Icon Base Layer (size M)

Last week I really put it to the test during an intense jumping lesson in a warm arena. The breathable and sweat-wicking material kept me completely dry, and the mesh panels provided just enough airflow. I couldn’t believe how cool and comfortable I felt, despite how my muscles were feeling!

My daughter loves the high neck zipper that gives it a polished look, without being too tight or constricting, as well as the snug, tidy cuffs. She receives compliments on both her top and leggings at every barn we go to.

Worth it?

Yes! If you want to look and feel great in your riding gear I highly recommend checking out Aztec Diamond Equestrian. They truly give you a luxury experience at a fraction of the cost of other brands and offer affordable worldwide shipping. The packaging alone showed incredible attention to detail that I don’t often see at this price point.

One ride in the leggings and I know you’ll be hooked just like us. As my daughter now says “I can never go back to my old breeches!”.
